Holmer Lake

Holmer Lake is set alongside the A442 Queensway in Stirchley. The pool is a small but good sized balancing reservoir and has a distinguishing dam on the roadside end of the lake.

Holmer Lake has some fantastic Roach and Bream fishing, and the Roach grow to fantastic sizes. You just have to be lucky enough to find the shoal, but the challenge is worth it. There is also a decent head of specimen Carp in the pool to target.

Holmer Lake is by no means an "easy" water, however, those that put the time in reap the rewards.

Holmer Lake has some dedicated pegs around the pool, however, many anglers find a spot on the long and open bank that much of the pool has.
Can I Night Fish Holmer Lake?
Night fishing on Holmer Lake is allowed for adult (18 and over) TAA members as part of their ticket. The pool can be night fished all year.
Baits And Methods On Holmer Lake?
Whether you're a course anger, or you favor carp or Pike fishing tactics, you really can't go wrong at Holmer Lake.
If you are targeting Roach, Perch and Bream, you cant beat the usual course fishing methods such as Waggler (float) , Feeder and Bomb tactics. Maggots, Casters, Hemp, a good quality groundbait, pellets, sweetcorn and small bandable boilies and wafters will always get the attention of the fish in Holmer Lake.
If you are targeting the many good sized carp, with carp fishing tactics, many of the best fish are caught using PVA bags with pellet, particle feed with boilies, wafters and pop-ups on the hook.
Spodding is allowed on the pool.
