Wide Waters.

"A fantastic mixed fishery, perfect for beginners and seasoned anglers alike"

The Wide Waters is set within the outskirts of Little Dawley and the Telford Town Park. The pool is part of a three pool complex and is the third largest of the three. The pool is one of the first pools from the car park and and the second most popular pool of the three.

The Wide Waters has recently undergone some updating with the installation of some eco-friendly, and disabled friendly pegs.

The Wide Waters has a very good stock of fish and is great for the beginner. The pool has also been used for the training pool for the Telford and District Juniors team, and has everything on offer from Gudgeon, to Crucians, Tench and Carp.

Is "The Wide" Disabled Friendly?

The terrain around the path side of the pool is quite flat however, those who need mobility aids such as wheel chairs may find it difficult. The pegs that are on "the houses" side are not accessible for those with mobility aids.

There have been some new eco-friendly and disabled friendly pegs installed as part of the first few pegs on the Wide Waters on the path side of the pool. Access to the pegs from the path is flat, and they are of good size.

All those fishing TAA waters are to assess their own capabilities before planning their journey to the pools.

How Many Pegs Are There On The Wide Waters?

There are approximately 21 pegs around the pool.

Can I Night Fish On The Wide Waters?

No. Night Fishing is strictly prohibited on the complex as it is situated next to a residential area. THIS IS NOT A DECISSION MADE BY TAA BUT THAT OF THE COUNCIL.

Baits And Methods On The Wide Waters?

Whether you're a course anger, or you favour carp fishing tactics, you have the chance of a great days angling on the Wide Waters.

If you are targeting Roach, Perch, Crucian Carp, Bream and Rudd you cant beat the usual course fishing methods such as Waggler (float), Pole, Feeder and Bomb tactics. Maggots, Casters, Hemp, a good quality groundbait, pellets, sweetcorn and small bandable boilies and wafters will help you pick out the Carp on "The Wide".

If you are targeting the carp, with carp fishing tactics, many of the best fish are caught using PVA bags with pellet, particle feed with boilies, wafters and pop-ups on the hook.

Spodding is allowed on the pool however, in the hotter months, Oxygen levels may drop and this may be restricted in such an event.

**PLEASE THINK OF FISH CARE AND FISH SAFETY AT ALL TIMES ON TAA WATERS, WE WOULD LIKE OUR FISH TO LIVE LONG AND HAPPY LIVES**
